Why Rosaries??

The idea for my business grew out of a deep need to have something positive to turn to after a rare autoimmune disease began to eat away at all those wonderful little blessings we all take for granted every day. Simple daily choices like food, physical activity, travel, career, family and hobbies suddenly became out of reach for me. After losing the ability to work a regular 9-5 job and having to drop out of school, I had to either find another path for myself, or, sit at home and mope over my illness and the resulting sudden loss of freedom.

Faced with zero chance at a normal life, I quickly turned to my faith in hopes that prayer and meditation could help me cope with the severity of the situation. I soon found myself looking for a custom rosary to meet my new my prayer needs and was shocked to find that I couldn't afford one! How could that be? I couldn't believe that something as simple as a custom rosary was out of reach for me and many others. Luckily with the dawn of the internet came great opportunities for folks like me, so I decided to start my own business. I believed then, as I still do today, that everyone should be able to afford a beautiful handmade rosary. Even though most of my rosaries aren't considered "heirloom quality”, at least I am able to give those like myself who can’t afford the average $85 - $500 for a custom rosary another option. I put a great deal of love and dedication into every rosary I make. Quality and customer service are #1 to me which is why I use bows instead of jump rings on all of my rosaries for added durability. Jump rings tend to break more easily than bows and I want all of my rosaries (heirloom or not) to last as long as possible.

Who is Speziale??
Uncle Dan Speziale
In 2003, with the blessing of my grandmother I decided to open my business and name it after my Grand Uncle Dan Speziale who I’ve always felt a strong connection to. Even though his experience as a MP probably exposed him to a lot of life's ugliness, he always remained a quiet man with a kind heart and a gentle spirit. He died very young (before I was born) from an injury received in a bar fight many years earlier. As the story goes, Uncle Dan was in a bar on Bourbon Street (New Orleans) when he witnessed a man being assaulted. Without thinking he tried to save the victim by grabbing the attacker by the throat, giving the man time to escape. Unfortunately someone came up behind him and surprised him with a bar stool to the head. Several years later the resulting blood clot dislodged and took his life after he slipped and fell on the ice outside his home while retrieving the morning paper. He was only in his 40’s. One of my greatest regrets is that I never had the chance to meet him. He is sorely missed!

I have chosen to make my business a 100% nonprofit company with all money going to a short list of very worthy charities including various cancer research organizations, Fibromyalgia research, children orphaned by AIDS, and the VFW’s unmet needs program. See below for details regarding my store policies as well as information about the CPSIA law’s role in restricting rosary availability for children under the age of 13.

And remember, if you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help!!

Thank You for visiting!!
